Sedwill Inquiry

Mark Sedwill, a senior Civil Servant, was asked to review a 2013 review into the dossier presented by Geoffrey Dickens MP to Leon Brittan in 1984.

The 2013 review said that parts of Dickens dossier that had "realistic potential" had been passed on to prosecutors and police.

After his inquiry Sedwill admitted to being "concerned" that 114 documents relating to paedophilia had gone missing from the Home Office.

He announced a further inquiry into the loss of documents by the Home Office. He said it was not appropriate for the Home Secretary to see his report. More.
